LVP and laminate floor repair in Monterey Park
Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) and laminate are floating floors, so a damaged plank can often be swapped without tearing up the room. I replace planks, fix lifting edges and transitions, and lay small areas like a closet or a hallway.

What I fix
- Replacing scratched, chipped, or water-damaged planks
- Fixing lifting edges and gaps at the walls
- Installing or replacing transition strips and thresholds
- Small areas: a closet, a hallway, a small bathroom
- Reinstalling baseboard or quarter round after the repair
Problems I see most
- Laminate swells at the edges after a spill or a leak, since its core soaks up water.
- Floors peak or buckle when no gap was left at the walls.
- Transitions pop loose at doorways.

LVP and laminate repair questions
Something else? Call or text and ask.
Can one plank be replaced?
Usually, yes. Floating floors can be unclicked from the nearest wall, or a plank can be cut out and a new one glued in.
LVP or laminate?
LVP handles water better, so it suits kitchens and bathrooms. Laminate is harder to scratch but swells if water sits on it.
What if there are no spare planks?
I'll look for the same product. If it's discontinued, taking planks from a closet and putting new ones there is an option.
How long does a plank swap take?
Usually a few hours for a few planks, depending on where they sit in the floor.
