Toilet repair in Monterey Park

A running toilet is almost always the flapper or fill valve. A wobbly one needs to be pulled and reset on a new wax ring before it leaks into the floor. I fix both, and I'll replace the toilet if it's cracked or past saving.

What I fix

  • Running toilets: flapper, fill valve, flush valve, or chain
  • Weak or double flushing
  • Wobbly toilets: pull, new wax ring and bolts, reset level
  • Leaks at the supply line or shutoff valve
  • Replacing a toilet with one you choose

Problems I see most

  • Hard water wears out flappers and fill valves faster than you'd expect.
  • A toilet that rocks slowly breaks the wax seal and can rot the subfloor.
  • Old shutoff valves under the tank won't close all the way.

Something else going on? Text me a photo and I'll take a look.

How a visit works

  1. Call or text a photo. Tell me what's wrong and your ZIP code.
  2. You get a price first. Most toilets jobs I can price from a photo. If I need to see it, I'll say so.
  3. The visit. Time on site: 30–90 min. Visits: usually one. confirm
  4. Parts and cleanup. If parts are needed, you approve the cost before I buy them, and I clean up the work area. confirm

What to have ready

  • A photo inside the tank with the lid off
  • Whether the toilet rocks, and if there are stains on the floor around it
  • The new toilet, if you are replacing it
  • Clear space around the toilet

Great service, highly recommend. I contacted Rick for a leaky shower and toilet and he was able to fix it the same day. He was quick and explained what the problems were and gave me a reasonable quote. I would definitely contact him again!

Rick was easy to communicate with and reliable. He installed a Kohler toilet at my parent's home. We will use his service again in the future!

Toilets questions

Something else? Call or text and ask.

Why does my toilet keep running?

Usually the flapper isn't sealing or the fill valve is set too high and water spills into the overflow tube. Both are quick part swaps.

Is a wobbly toilet a big deal?

It can become one. The rocking breaks the wax seal, and water can leak under the toilet into the floor. Resetting it on a new wax ring is a small job if you catch it early.

Should I repair or replace my toilet?

Repair it unless the bowl or tank is cracked, it clogs all the time, or parts are hard to find. I'll tell you which before I start.

Can you install a toilet I bought?

Yes. Send me the model so I can check the rough-in size (usually 12 inches) and the supply connection.
