Fridge water line and washer hose repair in Monterey Park

Two of the most common leaks in a house sit behind appliances: the thin water line to the refrigerator's ice maker, and the fill hoses behind the washing machine. Both fail quietly. We replace them with sturdier parts and valves that close properly.

The fixes we cover

  • Refrigerator and ice-maker supply lines replaced
  • Saddle valves swapped for quarter-turn valves
  • Rubber washer hoses changed to braided stainless
  • Laundry valves replaced when they drip or stick
  • Leaks behind appliances traced to the fitting
  • Floors checked for moisture after a leak

Where it usually goes wrong

  • Plastic ice-maker tubing cracks.
  • Saddle valves leak at the pipe clamp.
  • Rubber washer hoses bulge and burst.

Small lines, big leaks

The EPA's WaterSense program says household leaks can waste nearly 1 trillion gallons of water a year nationwide, and the average household's leaks more than 9,300 gallons. A drip behind a fridge or washer can run for months before it stains a floor or swells a cabinet base.

Monterey Park's water is very hard, at an average of 220 mg/L in the city's 2025 report. Scale stiffens the small valves that feed these appliances, so they often drip at the stem the first time they are turned in years. We replace those valves rather than force them.

Where these facts come from: U.S. EPA WaterSense, Fix a Leak Week; City of Monterey Park, 2025 Water Quality Report.

What we replace and why

Fridge lines: old white plastic tubing turns brittle and cracks, and thin copper kinks behind the fridge. We replace it with a braided stainless line, and swap a self-piercing saddle valve for a proper quarter-turn valve on a tee.

Washer hoses: rubber fill hoses bulge and split with age. We fit braided stainless hoses, check the two laundry valves, and replace them if they will not close or they weep.

After either job we run the appliance, check every joint, and show you where the shutoffs are so you can close them before a trip.

Fridge lines and washer hoses questions

Something else? Call or text and ask.

How often should washer hoses be replaced?

Follow the hose maker’s guidance. Braided stainless hoses last much longer than plain rubber ones.

Why replace a saddle valve?

They pierce the pipe with a clamp and seal, which tends to leak with age. A tee and quarter-turn valve is a sturdier fix.

Can you move the fridge?

Yes, carefully, to reach the line, and we protect the floor.

What if the floor is damaged?

We tell you what we see. Flooring repair is a separate job.
