Should I use a chemical drain cleaner first?
I'd skip it. It rarely clears a full clog, it's hard on old pipes, and it makes opening the trap risky. If you already used some, tell me before I start.
How do I know if it's more than the sink?
If the tub, toilet, and other sinks are slow too, or water comes up in another fixture, the clog is probably past the sink, in the main line. Mention that when you call or text, so we can sort out the right fix.
Can you fix the leak under my sink too?
Yes. Loose slip nuts, cracked trap parts, and worn washers are part of the same job.
How can I keep it from clogging again?
Use a hair catcher in bathroom sinks, keep grease out of the kitchen sink, and run hot water after use. A trap cleaning once in a while helps in older homes.
